CCREEE’s Administrative Unit provides critical support to the Centre’s work in the implementation of its strategic programmatic areas, along with specific support to the Executive Director, the Finance Manager and the wider CCREEE team.
Across CCREEE’s strategic programmes, knowledge and awareness building is integral to the adoption of new and existing technologies; progressing from increased knowledge among CARICOM Member States and their citizens to sustained behavioural change.
Energy Efficiency Unit
The Energy Efficiency Unit supports CCREEE’s strategic programme, and ensures the enhancement of energy efficiency in all aspects of the CCREEE’s work. These areas include the Sustainable Buildings Programme, the Sustainable Industry and Business Programme and the Sustainable Transport Programme with relevant flagship projects.
CCREEE’s Finance Unit provides overarching and essential support to the wider team in the implementation of the organisation’s strategic and operational programmes. The Unit oversees and implements the financial planning and management for the Centre’s operations.
Generation Expansion Unit
One of the strategic goals of the CCREEE is to contribute to increased resilience in CARICOM Member States. Supporting the attainment of this goal, is one of the Centre’s flagship programmes: Integrated Resource and Resilience Plans (IRRPs) through the support of the Generation Expansion Unit.
Knowledge Management and Capacity Development Unit
CCREEE’s strategic programme is supported by the Knowledge Management and Capacity Development Unit. Specifically, the Unit holds responsibility for the development, management and oversight of the CARICOM Energy Knowledge Hub (CEKH) as well as the energy-related training and learning needs of the CARICOM region.
Office of the Executive Director
The Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE) is under the leadership of the Executive Director. The Executive Director’s Office leads the implementation of CCREEE’s main priority areas: creating an expert knowledge base; optimising technological solutions through tool development; and transforming the region by utilising sustainable energy as a means to advance the well-being of at-risk and vulnerable groups.
Power Systems Expansion Unit
CCREEE’s Power Systems Expansion Unit works in close conjunction with the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Units with the aim of development and project management of Integrated Resource and Resilience Plans (IRRPs) for CARICOM Member States in fulfilment of their energy planning objectives.
Project Development and Gender Unit
The Project Development and Gender Unit at the CCREEE supports the Centre’s strategic programme which focuses on seven thematic areas. One of these areas is Finance and Project Support within which the Centre has identified the Project Preparation Facility (PPF) as a flagship project under this strategic programme.
Renewable Energy Unit
CCREEE’s Sustainable Energy (Renewable Energy) Unit is tasked with support to key programmatic areas within the strategic programme including establishment of the Energy Modelling and Renewable Energy Integration Virtual Laboratory (EMREV), the Energy Access Programme and, the Emergency Response Mechanism and Climate Resilience Programme.
