The Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE) has partnered with the Governments of Belize, the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to undertake the development of Integrated Resource and Resilience Plans (IRRPs).

The members of the Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centres (GN-SEC) say farewell to Mr. Mahama Kappiah, Executive Director of the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), who was appointed as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of ECOWAS to the United Nations in New York.


As all CARICOM Member States and Associate States now have confirmed COVID-19 cases and, as predictions indicate that cases will continue to rise globally, humanity’s vulnerability and that of the systems we utilise, are again being highlighted. When we think of resilience in the Caribbean Community, we tend to think of the natural hazards we often face: tropical storms and hurricanes, earthquakes and threats of volcanic eruptions; indeed, the Caribbean is often referred to as the second most disaster-prone area, in the world.


Ministers of Energy, Permanent Secretaries and other high-level officials from Latin America and the Caribbean gathered in Montego Bay, Jamaica February 27-28 to discuss the most pressing energy-related issues of our time.
